Core Vaccinations
Vaccinations are an important part of the preventative health care plan for your pet. For mature animals, titer tests can be run to evaluate the amount of vaccine antibodies in the blood circulation and to determine if your pet needs to be vaccinated.
Parasite Screening and Prevention
Proper parasite control and prevention is crucial to your pet’s health. Fleas, ticks, heartworms and intestinal worms can cause significant damage. These organisms spread disease and will lower the immune system. Parasite screening can be easily performed.
Wellness Examination
The importance of regular physical examinations cannot be overlooked. Abnormalities can be discovered during the exam even in apparently healthy animals. Detection of disease or behavioral problems early in their course provides the best opportunity for successful therapy and often with less expense. In general, we recommend annual exams for
young and middle aged animals, and biannual for
geriatrics (over 10 years) or individuals with chronic conditions.
Diet and Food Therapy
Your pet’s diet is extremely important to their health. The food you offer often needs to change along with your pet’s age and the current state of their body. Also, many commercial foods are composed of fillers and antigens your pet may be allergic to. For instance, many skin disorders can be linked to a food allergy.
